So that the wearer's eyes perceive only the most suitable picture of the stereoscopic display, the two lenses of the LCD glasses are alternately obscured. XpanD denotes the LCD lenses as "pi-cell" and ensures very fast shutter speeds. Due to the fast shutter speeds and the associated perfect channel separation are ghost images (ghosting effects) are avoided, thus overlapping the stereokskopischen fields.

Image and glasses are synchronized via an infrared transmitter. The lenses have a diagonal of 2.2 inches (57 millimeters), the spectacle itself is just under 60 grams and is powered by batteries. To save energy, you can frame the 3D glasses on and off again. The batteries - regular CR2032 button cells - hold up to 100 hours of long and can be replaced without difficulty.
